Sizing & Fit guide

At Casa Equestre, we are trusted experts in the equestrian safety industry, helping riders of all ages across North America find their perfect air vest fit. With years of experience and a deep understanding of both performance and protection, we know that correct sizing is essential for comfort, confidence, and safety in the saddle. Our team is here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring your air vest fits precisely as it should — so you can ride with complete peace of mind.

How to Measure

For best results:

  • Wear a light base layer (similar to what you typically ride in).
  • Stand naturally and avoid pulling the tape too tight.
  • Use a soft measuring tape.
  • Ask someone to help you measure your back length.

1. Height

Measure your full height standing straight without shoes.

2. Weight

Provide your current weight. This helps us fine-tune sizing between two options.

3. Chest (Widest Point)

Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level and comfortably snug.

4. Waist (Narrowest Point)

Measure around the smallest part of your natural waist.

5. Hips (Just Below the Beltline)

Measure around your hips just below where your riding belt sits.

6. Back Length (Critical for Safety Fit)

Measure from:

  • The base of your C7 vertebra (the small bone that slightly protrudes at the base of your neck when you tilt your head forward)
  • Down to your SI joint (the natural dimples at the top of your hips, just above the gluteal line)

The correct back length should allow approximately one hand-width between the bottom of the inflated vest and the saddle. This ensures proper deployment without interfering with your seat.

Riding Boots & Chaps – Fit & Measurement Guide

Book Your Fitting Appointment

All Parlanti footwear follows standard European sizing (EU), ranging from 35 to 45. Each foot size is available in multiple calf widths and leg heights to ensure a precise, tailored fit for every rider.

What You’ll Need

To ensure accurate measurements, please prepare:

  • The breeches and riding socks you normally wear when riding
  • A soft measuring tape (in centimeters)
  • Assistance from another person (strongly recommended for accuracy)

How to Measure

Parlanti boots are sized according to European sizing (EU). If you are unsure of your EU foot size, please consult a conversion chart before proceeding with leg measurements.

Measurements should be taken:

  • Standing upright
  • Barefoot or wearing riding socks
  • With legs straight and slightly apart

For best results, have someone else take your measurements.

Calf Circumference

Measure the circumference at the widest part of your calf.

If your calves differ in size, use the larger measurement.

(This applies to tall boots and half chaps.)

Top Entrance

Measure the circumference just below the knee, at the highest point of the boot where the zipper closes.

(This applies to tall boots and half chaps.)

Back Length

Measure from the bottom of your heel to the crease at the back of your knee.

This measurement must be taken from the back of the leg — not from the front or sides.

Be sure you are barefoot or wearing riding socks.

(This applies to tall boots and half chaps.)

Important Fit Notes

  • Most Parlanti tall boots and chaps feature an elastic panel at the back for flexibility and comfort.
(Please note: this does not apply to the Dressage model.)
  • The elastic panel allows for approximately 2–2.5 cm of stretch. This extension is not included in the official size charts.
  • Boots and chaps should feel snug when first worn, as the leather will soften and naturally adapt to your leg over time.

Height Adjustment Recommendation

After determining your back length measurement, add approximately 1.5 cm.

As the boots break in, they typically drop between 1.5–2 cm in height as the ankle area softens and the leather settles.
